Rongoā Ngahere crafts pure mānuka products, grounded in our land,

Good from the earth.
Good for your skin.
Good for generations to come.
Te Puawaitanga O Mataraua Ahu Whenua Trust is proud to be behind Rongoā Ngahere, a wellness brand that celebrates Māori traditions, supports whānau, and ensures the land continues to thrive. By creating products from the ngahere, we care for skin, honour our heritage, and protect the whenua for generations to come.

Our whenua, our story
The land behind our products has been part of our whānau for generations. This is our ancestral home, and after our great-grandfather’s passing in 1965, the care of this whenua passed to our family and the Te Puawaitanga O Mataraua Ahu Whenua Trust.
Today, we tend over 60 hectares of lush native bush in Mataraua, west of Kaikohe, Northland. It’s a thriving home for mānuka, kānuka, and other native botanicals.
We treat this land with the respect it deserves, honouring tikanga and nurturing the ngahere so it continues to provide for future generations.
The plants we gather, and the products we create from them, carry the story of this place and the people who care for it.
Our
philosophy
Sustainability and respect for our land guides every decision we make, using every part of the mānuka plant to create pure, effective and gentle products.
Our work is guided by principles that have always been central to our whānau:
Skincare from Rongoā Ngahere nourishes your skin while reflecting care for the land that makes it possible.
We focus on simple, natural formulas that draw on the strength of our organically grown native plants. Each product offers nourishment for skin, comfort for the body, and cares for our environment.
